Animated Signature Best Practices

  1. Keep animations subtle. Gentle fades and pulses — not flashing neon. You want attention, not annoyance.
  2. File size under 200KB. Optimise your GIF aggressively. Use fewer frames and limited colours.
  3. Design the first frame carefully. Outlook Desktop shows only frame 1. Make it look complete on its own.
  4. Loop 2-3 times, then stop. Infinite loops are distracting and increase CPU usage on mobile.
  5. Don't animate text. Moving text is hard to read and looks unprofessional.
  6. One animation per signature. Multiple moving elements create visual chaos.
