Email Signature on Android

How to set up a professional email signature on Android phones and tablets — Gmail app, Samsung Email, and default mail apps.

Gmail App on Android

The Gmail app on Android only supports plain text signatures set through the app. For HTML signatures, set them via Gmail web:

  1. Open Gmail.com in Chrome on your Android phone (or computer)
  2. Tap the gear icon → See all settings
  3. Scroll to the Signature section on the General tab
  4. Create a new signature and paste your HTML code
  5. Choose defaults for new emails and replies
  6. Save changes

⚠️ Important: Gmail web signatures only appear when sending from the Gmail web interface. The Gmail Android app has its own plain-text-only "Mobile signature" setting (hamburger menu → Settings → [account] → Mobile Signature).
