Guide

Email Signature on iPhone & iPad

How to set up a professional email signature in the iOS Mail app on iPhone and iPad.

Basic Text Signature Setup

  1. Open Settings on your iPhone/iPad
  2. Scroll down and tap Mail
  3. Scroll to the bottom and tap Signature
  4. Choose Per Account or All Accounts
  5. Type your signature text

Adding HTML Signatures (Advanced)

iOS Mail's settings only support plain text. To use an HTML signature with formatting, logos, and links, you need this workaround:

  1. Open your HTML signature in Safari on your iPhone
  2. Select all the rendered signature (long-press → Select All)
  3. Copy the rendered content
  4. Go to Settings → Mail → Signature
  5. Clear the existing text and Paste
  6. The rich formatting, images, and links will be preserved

💡 Tip: We email you a mobile-friendly preview page specifically for this purpose. Open it in Safari, select all, copy, and paste into your Mail settings.

iOS Mail Signature Limitations

⚠️ Per-Account Only

You can have one signature per email account. No multiple signatures per account.

📏 Image Size

Large images may be resized. Keep your logo under 200×60px and total signature width under 320px for mobile.

🔄 Updates Reset

Major iOS updates can sometimes reset signatures. Re-paste after updating iOS.

Alternative: Use Gmail App on iPhone

If iOS Mail's limitations frustrate you, the Gmail app for iPhone offers better signature support. Set your HTML signature in Gmail web settings, and it syncs to the Gmail app automatically. See our Gmail signature guide.
